The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Mobile Surface Planner to join our client on an ongoing basis, supporting mining operations in the Northern Territory on a FIFO 2/2 roster.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mining professional with strong mobile maintenance planning and master data experience to play a key role in supporting the reliability, availability, and performance of a surface mobile fleet.

Working closely with maintenance, operations, and technical teams, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining effective maintenance plans, ensuring accurate master data, and supporting continuous improvement across mobile equipment maintenance activities.

We're looking for someone who is organised, technically minded, analytical, and experienced in a mining maintenance environment, with strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to planning and data management.

What the Role Entails

- Develop, maintain, and optimise maintenance plans for surface mobile mining equipment.

- Coordinate planned maintenance activities to support equipment availability, reliability, and production requirements.

- Maintain and improve equipment master data, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with maintenance strategies.

- Review and update equipment maintenance strategies, job plans, task lists, and maintenance schedules.

- Ensure maintenance plans are aligned with OEM recommendations, site standards, and operational requirements.

- Work closely with maintenance supervisors, trades, reliability teams, operations, and other stakeholders to ensure effective maintenance execution.

- Identify planning constraints, upcoming maintenance requirements, and potential resource or scheduling issues.





- Support the development of weekly and longer-term maintenance schedules.

- Review maintenance history and equipment performance data to identify opportunities for improvement.

- Assist with backlog management, work order quality, and maintenance planning processes.

- Ensure materials, labour requirements, tooling, and other resources are identified and available for planned work.

- Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving maintenance efficiency, equipment reliability, and cost effectiveness.

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance documentation and records.

- Provide reporting and updates on maintenance planning activities, performance, and key issues.

- Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes, planning efficiency, and data quality.

- Undertake additional duties and projects to support the maintenance and technical teams as required.

What You Will Need

- Previous experience in a Maintenance Planning role within the mining, resources, or heavy industry sectors.

- Strong experience working with surface mobile mining equipment.

- Demonstrated experience with master data management, including equipment, maintenance, job plan, task list, and/or BOM data.

- Strong understanding of maintenance planning, scheduling, work management, and maintenance strategies.

- Experience working with a CMMS/EAM system such as SAP, Pronto, Ellipse, or similar.

- Ability to analyse maintenance history, equipment data, and performance information to identify improvement opportunities.

- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
