The Bigger Picture At Andromeda Robotics, we're not just imagining the future of human-robot relationships; we're building it. Abi is the first emotionally intelligent humanoid companion robot, designed to bring care, conversation, and joy to the people who need it most. Backed by investors such as Forerunner and Main Sequence and with customers already deploying Abi across elder care and healthcare, we're scaling fast, and we're doing it with an engineering-first culture that's obsessed with pushing the limits of what's possible.

Our Values

Empathy - Kindness and compassion are at the heart of everything we do

Play - Play sharpens focus. It keeps us curious, fast and obsessed with the craft

Never Settle - A relentless ambition, bias toward action, and uncomfortable levels of curiosity

Tenacity - Tenacious under pressure, we assume chaos and stay in motion to adapt and progress

Unity - Different minds. Shared mission. No passengers The Role As our Network & IT Systems Engineer, you will be the technical backbone of Andromeda's internal technology and on-prem infrastructure - owning the systems, automation and day-to-day support that keep our people productive and our infrastructure reliable.

We don't have an external MSP or a separate helpdesk team. You will own issues end-to-end: from helping someone whose laptop won't connect to Wi-Fi, through to diagnosing a Linux server, recovering an on-prem service or fixing the underlying system so the problem doesn't happen again. This is a hands-on role.

You'll provision laptops, manage accounts, respond to support requests and troubleshoot everyday issues. But your job is not simply to work through tickets. You will also design better systems, automate repetitive work, improve observability and build the foundations that allow Andromeda to scale without its IT workload scaling at the same rate.

You will own employee devices, identity, office networking, SaaS administration, on-prem infrastructure and the automation layer that ties them together. What You'll Own End-User Support Own IT support across the company, from initial request through to resolution

Engineer seamless, self-service experiences for the company. Minimize manual intervention by building automated workflows and reliable tooling that reduce IT friction

Diagnose and resolve more complex problems without relying on an external MSP

Identify recurring issues and address their underlying causes

Establish lightweight support processes that remain responsive as the company grows

Use agents and LLMs to diagnose, fix and prevent common issues Device Management and Provisioning Own our Windows, macOS and Linux device fleet from procurement through to decommissioning

Provision, configure, patch, repair, wipe and re-image laptops and computers

Own and automate our global fleet lifecycle for macOS and Linux, building secure, compliant, and unified environments for our engineering and customer success teams

Manage device configuration, software installation, disk encryption, security policies and compliance through MDM and supporting tooling

Maintain standard configurations and reduce drift between machines

Maintain an accurate inventory of devices, ownership, configuration and lifecycle state Identity and SaaS Own and evolve Google Workspace as our core identity and collaboration platform

Manage user lifecycle, groups, permissions,

MFA, access policies and security configuration

Automate onboarding, offboarding and access-management workflows

Own and evolve our Identity and Access Management (IAM) framework. Scale our identity platform by automating onboarding, offboarding, and access workflows, enforcing least-privilege policies and integrating SaaS tools via APIs to eliminate operational toil and manual lifecycle management

Improve licence governance and remove redundant or unused access

Maintain secure break-glass and recovery procedures On-Prem Infrastructure Operate and maintain the servers, computers, storage and network infrastructure that support Andromeda's internal and on-prem services

Administer Linux systems, containers and supporting services

Monitor availability, performance, capacity, storage and infrastructure health

Plan and perform system maintenance, upgrades, patching and hardware replacement

Maintain backups and regularly verify that systems can be recovered

Maintain known-good configurations, operational documentation and recovery procedures Networking and Office Infrastructure Own office Wi-Fi, switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, DNS, DHCP and physical connectivity

Design appropriate separation between corporate, engineering, production, robot and guest networks

Monitor network health and diagnose connectivity, interference, latency and performance problems

Maintain secure remote access to infrastructure

Assume ownership of the uptime and expansion of our internal systems and audiovisual environments. You will architect robust, high-speed network frameworks for office and production spaces that power both day-to-day business

Coordinate specialist vendors where necessary while remaining the internal technical owner Reliability and Deployment Operations Build monitoring, dashboards, logging, alerting and health checks for critical infrastructure

Respond to outages and coordinate recovery

Maintain runbooks for common incidents and failure modes

Identify recurring failures and implement preventative improvements

Deploy application releases to on-prem infrastructure using established procedures

Roll services forward or back to known-valuable versions when required

Verify system health after deployments and escalate application-specific problems to the responsible engineering team

Improve the safety, repeatability and auditability of deployments Automation Write and maintain scripts and internal tools that reduce repetitive work

Automate device provisioning, configuration, account lifecycle and routine maintenance

Manage configuration as code where it improves reliability and repeatability

Store automation and infrastructure configuration in Git

Build self-service workflows for common IT and engineering needs

Use AI and LLM tools to accelerate the development of automation, including generating scripts, scaffolding tooling, exploring implementation approaches,

and iterating quickly on internal systems—while ensuring all outputs are reviewed, understood, and production-safe

Continually identify operational toil and remove it Requirements Who We're Looking For We're looking for someone who can operate and build. You are comfortable supporting people directly, including when the issue is simple, urgent or inconvenient. At the same time, you think in systems.

You understand how devices, identity, networks, SaaS tools and on-prem infrastructure connect, and your instinct is to eliminate recurring manual work. You are also comfortable using modern AI tools and LLMs as part of your engineering workflow. You use them to accelerate scripting, generate automation scaffolding, explore system design options, and build internal tools faster—but you are still responsible for understanding, validating and owning what you ship.

AI is a multiplier for your engineering ability, not a replacement for it. You don't need a long list of previous titles or a particular number of years in the industry. What matters is that you have strong technical foundations, can troubleshoot independently and can take ownership of a problem from first report through to permanent resolution.

You might be a great fit if you: Are comfortable owning all levels of IT support, from everyday laptop issues to complex systems and infrastructure failures

Can manage a mixed fleet of macOS and Linux computers

Understand endpoint management, automated provisioning, policy enforcement and device security

Can administer Google Workspace, including users, groups, access, security policies and integrations with other tools

Can write scripts using Python, Bash or similar languages to automate work others would perform manually

Understand Linux well enough to diagnose problems across services, processes, permissions, storage, networking and system configuration

Understand networking fundamentals, including Wi-Fi, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, VPNs and firewalls

Can operate on-prem infrastructure and improve its uptime, observability, maintenance and recoverability

Can deploy a known application release and safely roll it forward or back using documented procedures or scripts

Take ownership, work independently and follow through from identifying a problem to implementing a reliable solution

Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical teammates

Are practical: you know when to automate, when to document and when to simply help someone get moving again Benefits The salary for this position may vary depending on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include additional benefits or components based on the specific role. Details will be provided if an employment offer is made.

If you're excited about this role but don't meet every requirement, that's okay — we encourage you to apply.
