We're looking for motivated nursery hands who have a genuine interest in plants or horticulture to join our growing teams.
Who we are
Scotts Tubes is a leading wholesale production nursery based at Mangrove Mountain, NSW.
We grow over 1,000 lines of plants, including speciality potted colour, herbs, vegetables, perennials and tubestock.
Our plants are supplied to retail chain stores and independent retailers across NSW and the ACT.
Available roles
We are looking to fill the following roles:
- Potted colour sorting and labelling - 4 days per week
- Potted colour picking, sorting and production - 5 days per week
- Tubestock picking, sorting and production - 5 days per week
- Herbs and veggies picking, sorting and production - 5 days per week.

What you'll be doing The work you'll be doing may vary day to day, but can include tasks like:
- picking, sorting, packing and dispatching of customer plant orders
- all aspects of plant production and care: seeding, planting, watering etc
- maintenance and cleaning of dispatch and production areas
- mule and/or tractor driving
- operating planting machinery and using hand-tools
- other nursery duties as required.
Days and hours
- Ordinary work hours: 6:30am start to 3:00pm finish, with breaks at designated times.
- Overtime hours are usually worked during our busy season – this can mean earlier starts or later finishes.
- Employment type:
positions will commence as casual but can become ongoing for the right person.
We're looking for people that:
- have a genuine interest in the horticulture industry
- have nursery or gardening experience
- are reliable and have their own transport (public transport is not available to our location)
- have the physical fitness to undertake manual tasks, including lifting, moving and carrying heavy items, walking and being on their feet all day
- can work outside in all weather conditions
- have an eye for detail
- are quick to learn and can follow processes
- work well in a quick-paced environment
- can work independently, as well as part of a team
- use effective and respectful communication
- have Australian work rights.
Desirable skills and experience (but not essential)
- Certificate 3 in Horticulture (or equivalent).
- Industry experience.
- Knowledge of plant varieties - herb knowledge an advantage.
Seasonal casuals
We will consider seasonal casuals who are reliable and motivated and hold valid Australian work rights.
However, our industry and location does NOT meet the requirements of 'regional or remote work' for the extension of working holiday visas.
