Avina Graduate Program 2027 Start your OT career with structure, support and room to grow. At Avina, we're a national allied health and behaviour support organisation supporting communities across Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia. With a team of 400+ clinicians, we deliver Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Dietetics and Positive Behaviour Support across community, clinic and telehealth settings.

Every Day Progressive | Curious | Respectful | Collaborative | Informed | Purposeful Your Graduate Year at Avina Starting your first role as an Occupational Therapist is a big transition. Our 12-month Graduate Program is designed to give you the structure, clinical support and practical experience to build confidence gradually rather than expecting you to know everything from day one. Your graduate journey begins with structured onboarding and caseload ramp-up, giving you time to learn our systems, understand the NDIS environment, develop your clinical skills and gradually transition into independent practice.

Throughout Your First

Year, You'll Be Supported Through A structured 9-week onboarding and gradual caseload ramp-up

Initial shadowing with experienced clinicians

Reverse shadowing and supported sessions as you begin seeing clients independently

Regular discipline-specific clinical supervision

Support from experienced Senior Occupational Therapists and clinical leaders

Discipline-specific graduate learning and development

Ongoing multidisciplinary learning sessions throughout your graduate year

Case consultation, report review and clinical feedback

Peer learning and opportunities to connect with other graduates

Access to Communities of Practice and broader professional development opportunities





Regular opportunities to provide feedback and help shape the Graduate Program What You'll Learn Your graduate year will help you build both the clinical and practical skills needed to work confidently within community and disability practice. Depending on your caseload and location, you'll have opportunities to develop your skills across areas such as: Functional assessments

Capacity building and goal-based intervention

Daily living and independence

Sensory, motor and emotional regulation

Assistive technology and equipment

Working with families, carers and support networks

NDIS documentation and report writing

Clinical risk and safe practice

Working effectively within a multidisciplinary team What You'll Be Doing You'll support participants across home, school, clinic and community environments, delivering strengths-based, person-centred Occupational Therapy. As your confidence and capability develop, you'll gradually take greater ownership of your caseload while continuing to have access to supervision, mentoring and clinical support.

Melbourne West - Point Cook, Tarneit, Taylors Lakes What You'll Bring Bachelor or Master of Occupational Therapy completed or nearing completion

AHPRA registration or eligibility to obtain registration

Genuine interest in disability and community-based practice

Curiosity and willingness to learn

Solid communication and organisational skills

Driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
