As the Operations Duty Manager, you'll be at the heart of that operation, leading critical decisions, driving operational performance, and developing a high-performing team within the Jetstar Operations Control Centre (JOCC).
This is a key leadership role responsible for the safe, compliant and efficient delivery of the flying programme. You'll lead teams through real-time operational challenges, influence outcomes across the network, and play a significant role in building the capability of current and future operational leaders.
We're looking for a leader first and foremost. While strong operational knowledge is essential,
success in this role will come from your ability to inspire others, develop talent, create accountability and foster a high-performance culture.
The Core Responsibilities Of This Role Will Be
- Lead and develop a team of Operations Controllers and Officers, driving performance, capability and engagement.
- Provide operational leadership across the day-of-operations, ensuring the safe, compliant and efficient delivery of Jetstar's flying programme.
- Act as a key decision-maker during operational disruptions, balancing customer, operational and commercial priorities.
- Drive strong operational outcomes across safety, compliance, on-time performance and cost management.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Flying Operations, Maintenance, Crewing, Dispatch and other operational teams to optimise network performance.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and operational excellence while developing future leaders within the team.
- Act as the delegate for the Manager JOCC Operations, providing leadership and direction across the operation when required.
To Be Considered, Key Skills Will Include
- Proven experience leading high-performing teams in a complex operational environment.
- Solid operational leadership experience within aviation, airline operations or a comparable 24/7 operation.
- Demonstrated ability to develop people, build capability and drive performance outcomes.
- Sound decision-making skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Exceptional stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
- Strong commercial awareness, problem-solving capability and continuous improvement focus.
- A safety-first mindset,
underpinned by strong compliance and risk management knowledge.
- Resilience, adaptability and the ability to lead through change.
