About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our Long-Haul operations. This is a key leadership role with accountability for safe and reliable service delivery, team performance and commercial outcomes. Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, you will strengthen an established operation, build capability and drive sustainable performance across people, fleet, customers and costs.

Key Responsibilities Of The Role

- Lead the strategic and day-to-day performance of Long-Haul operations, ensuring safe, efficient and reliable service delivery.
- Own operational and commercial performance, including revenue, profitability, productivity, fleet utilisation and cost control.
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team, fostering accountability, capability and continuous improvement.
- Drive workforce and capacity planning to meet current and future customer and operational requirements.
- Identify and manage operational, commercial and capacity risks that may affect service delivery or business performance.
- Build strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
- Champion a strong safety, compliance and risk culture across all Long-Haul operations.
- Improve processes, systems, scheduling and asset utilisation to lift operational performance.




- Use meaningful operational and financial KPIs to support sound decisions and sustained results.
- Provide calm, decisive leadership during disruptions, critical incidents and competing priorities.

What You Will Bring

- At least five years' senior experience in transport, logistics or a comparable operational environment.
- Proven leadership experience in a complex transport operation, ideally Long Haul, linehaul or multi-site road transport.
- Strong commercial acumen, with accountability for budgets, costs, productivity, utilisation, KPIs and profitability.
- Demonstrated success managing key customer relationships, service performance and commercial discussions in a B2B environment.
- The ability to lead, develop and hold operational teams accountable for safety, service and performance outcomes.
- A strong understanding of fleet scheduling, load planning, transport productivity and asset utilisation.
