We are excited to invite expressions of interest for the internal opportunity of Participant Relationship Officer. The role will be based at our Elizabeth office, with travel to other Barkuma sites as required to meet participant needs and availability.

This role is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting participants to achieve their goals, building strong relationships and contributing to the continued development of participant pathways across Barkuma.

Working closely with the Participant Developmental Manager, the Participant Relationship Officer will support participants through key life transitions, including leaving school, commencing work, moving towards open employment and independent living, and transitioning into retirement or aged care.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you will:

- Build solid relationships with participants, families, nominees, advocates, support coordinators and other stakeholders.
- Lead participant attraction, intake and onboarding across Barkuma services.
- Work with participants to understand their goals, maintain work goal plans and identify training, development and future pathway opportunities.
- Support participants to transition between Barkuma programs and into their next stage of life.
- Review NDIS plans, funding and participant goals to help develop tailored service responses.
- Work collaboratively with operational teams to ensure positive participant onboarding, service commencement, handovers and transitions.




- Contribute to the development of innovative support models, programs and service improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for sustainable funding, including NDIS programs and external grants.
- Promote and represent Barkuma at relevant events, networks and industry groups.
- Support safeguarding, quality, risk management and continuous improvement across participant services.

- Has a strong understanding of the NDIS, IEA and disability services.
- Builds positive and trusted relationships with participants and stakeholders.
- Demonstrates a person-centred and strengths-based approach.
- Has strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Is solutions-focused and brings a continuous improvement mindset.
- Can work collaboratively across different teams and services.
- Is adaptable and comfortable working in a changing environment.
- Is committed to safeguarding and achieving positive outcomes for people with disability.

Qualifications

- Certificate IV in Disability or a related qualification.
- Certificate IV in Project Management is desirable.
