About the role

This is an exciting time to join Transwa, with the recommencement of the brand‑new Australind train service between Perth and Bunbury. Successful applicants will be among the first to work on this modern new train together with our other train services, contributing to a refreshed passenger experience and playing an important role in delivering exceptional customer service across our network. You will also undertake additional duties as required to support smooth and reliable service delivery.

In this role, you will provide safe, high‑quality customer service to passengers. You will be a visible, proactive presence on board—assisting passengers, offering information, and ensuring comfort, safety, and security throughout the journey. A key part of your role is supporting all travellers, including elderly passengers, people with disabilities, and families, while also assisting with boarding and luggage handling.

You will help maintain the onboard environment by ensuring facilities, equipment, and amenities are clean, functional, and well‑presented. You will promptly log and report issues, assist with routine public announcements, and support the Senior Passenger Assistant during regular operations and emergency procedures. The role also includes selling refreshments, operating equipment, managing cash securely, and completing required documentation.

About You!

We're looking for someone with:

- Strong understanding of customer service techniques, ideally gained in a hospitality or customer‑facing workplace.
- Well-developed communication and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to liaise with diverse customers and resolve customer concerns effectively.
- Confident with basic numerical tasks and able to complete manual calculations accurately.
- Organised and adaptable, with the ability to prioritise tasks, manage competing demands, and maintain high standards during busy periods.
