APPLY AS A TEAM - HIRED AS A TEAM

This role is for a two-person crew: one licensed plumber and one licensed electrician who already work together and want guaranteed, consistent installation work as a unit. You're hired together, rostered together, and work every job together - both trades present on every installation. If you're a plumber and sparky who trust each other's work, this is built for you.

HiTech Hotwater is an established NSW hot water specialist now expanding into Victoria. Our installs are booked across Greater Melbourne (approx. 80km radius from our Laverton North warehouse), and Victoria's gas phase-out has demand for heat pump upgrades under the VEU program running at record levels.

THE WORK

- Install all-in-one (integrated) heat pump hot water systems - no refrigerant pipework involved
- Replace and decommission existing gas and electric hot water systems, including gas disconnection/capping
- Electrical connection of every unit - new circuits, isolators, and power points where applicable
- Site inspections ahead of installations; servicing and maintenance of installed systems
- The crew issues all required certificates: the plumber issues the plumbing compliance certificate, the electrician issues the Certificate of Electrical Safety (COES) - both are mandatory VEU claim evidence on every job
- Obtain customer sign-off and complete all VEU/rebate documentation on the day of installation
- Dispose of the removed old tank at a compliant facility - drive, drop, collect a receipt

HOW THE TEAM ENGAGEMENT WORKS
- One team, one roster: you're engaged and scheduled together - both members' presence is required on every job, and the crew is on and off with the company as a single unit
- Two individual subcontracts: each of you contracts and invoices under your own ABN and is paid separately
- Own workmanship, own responsibility: each tradesperson is responsible for the workmanship of their own trade carried out under their own licence




- Strict trade separation - the plumber performs no electrical work; the electrician performs no plumbing work

WHAT YOU'LL NEED The plumber:
- Licensed plumbing practitioner (Building and Plumbing Commission / VBA) - Water Supply class, Licensed category (able to issue compliance certificates)
- Gasfitting class - most changeovers involve gas disconnection
- Hot water installation experience

The electrician:
- Licensed electrician (A-Grade) registered with Energy Protected Victoria
- Able to issue Certificates of Electrical Safety (COES)
- Experience with residential electrical work; hot water connections highly regarded

Both of you:
- Current ABN (payment is made to each member's own ABN)
- Own vehicle and tools - the crew supplies its own ute, trolley and hand tools
- Current driver's licence and White Card
- Physically fit - hot water units require safe manual handling
- Strong communication skills; reliable, professional, maintenance-focused work ethic
- Public liability insurance per person (highly regarded - include certificates of currency)

No separate VEU accreditation or extra training is required - if you hold the licences above, you can work under the program with us immediately. We handle program administration.
