Your current company An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced policy professional to join a government organisation undertaking significant work in the areas of privacy reform, responsible information sharing, and information governance. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing, reviewing and implementing policies that support legislative compliance and organisational best practice. This is a six-month contract with an immediate start.
Your new role
Working within a specialist policy and governance team, you will be responsible for developing high-quality policy documents and supporting the implementation of key information governance initiatives. You will undertake research, analyse legislation and government frameworks, consult with stakeholders, and prepare policy documentation that supports organisational objectives and emerging compliance requirements.
Key responsibilities include
- Developing and reviewing policies, frameworks, standards and guidance materials.
- Interpreting legislation and translating requirements into practical policy outcomes.
- Supporting privacy and responsible information sharing initiatives.
- Contributing to information classification and information governance projects.
- Undertaking policy research and analysis.
- Consulting with subject matter experts and internal stakeholders.
- Preparing reports, briefing materials and recommendations for decision-makers.
- Supporting implementation and change activities associated with new policy requirements
What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience developing government or corporate policies.
- Strong written communication and policy drafting skills.
- Experience interpreting legislation, standards or regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of privacy, information governance, records management or related disciplines will be highly regarded.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and consultation skills.
- The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities within defined timeframes.
- Previous experience within government, regulatory or highly governed environments would be advantageous.
