Power BI Consultant / Data Analytics Contractor (Project-Based) | Melbourne

We are seeking an experienced Power BI Consultant to support a strategic data and analytics project. This is a hands-on engagement for a contractor or project-based professional who can quickly understand business requirements, recommend an approach, and deliver practical outcomes.

Intelfuse provides trusted vegetation intelligence to electricity utilities, helping them better understand and manage vegetation risk around critical infrastructure. We work with large, complex spatial and operational datasets and are looking for someone who can turn that data into clear, useful business intelligence.

The Opportunity

You will play a key role in establishing a robust reporting and analytics capability by:

- Designing, developing and enhancing high-quality Power BI dashboards and reports
- Reviewing, updating and transforming existing dashboards to improve performance, usability and business value
- Integrating, modelling and transforming data from multiple sources
- Translating complex datasets into meaningful insights and visualisations
- Supporting advanced data analysis and practical data science initiatives
- Working closely with technical and operational stakeholders to define requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions




- Establishing a scalable and maintainable foundation for future reporting, analytics and decision-making

About You To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Advanced Power BI expertise, including data modelling, DAX, Power Query and dashboard design
- Solid data analytics and data science capability
- Experience building new dashboards as well as modernising and optimising existing reporting environments
- Experience working with complex, large-scale or high-volume datasets
- Solid SQL and data integration skills
- The ability to translate business challenges into practical, data-driven solutions
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A self-sufficient approach with the ability to work independently and deliver outcomes

Highly Regarded

- Experience with geospatial, infrastructure, utilities or asset management data
- Exposure to Azure data platforms, Microsoft Fabric or modern data architectures
