Work Location : Lobs Hole Job Summary: The Preservation Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the preservation and fitness-for-purpose condition of all electrical and mechanical components (Turbines, Generators, Hydraulic Steel Structures, BoPe, and BoPm) involved in the Snowy 2.0 project. They lead and manage the end-to-end preservation function in accordance with manufacturer specifications and quality standards, ensuring all risks, defects, and non-conformances are identified, addressed, and mitigated. The role is accountable for delivering preservation activities in line with contractual milestones, timelines, and budget requirements.

The Preservation

Manager develops, owns, and drives the preservation strategy, schedule, and execution plan, providing leadership and clear direction across all preservation-related activities. Supervises:

Discipline engineers who establish OEM requirements and supervisors who coordinate site preservation works. Your Responsibilities:

Lead and ensure all personnel within your area comply with HSE policies and storage protocols across site & Goulburn warehouse facilities.

Oversee and manage all preservation activities, ensuring alignment with project schedules and quality requirements.

Coordinate closely with the site quality team to ensure timely material availability and proper storage at installation sites.

Establish and maintain strong communication and coordination with Field Services and external stakeholders regarding preservation needs.

Drive and monitor preservation inspections and audits in line with the preservation schedule.





Participate in and contribute to site planning meetings, providing preservation input and risk visibility.

Identify, manage, and escalate critical preservation risks and issues.

Continuously improve preservation processes, ensuring efficiency and compliance with best practices. Your Profile:

Trade or Degree background - (Electrical or Mechanical).

Strong leadership mindset with a focus on HSE and quality.

Proven experience in a management-level preservation or site leadership role within large hydro power, power generation or similar Oil and Gas projects.

Strong technical and practical knowledge of power equipment installation and commissioning.

In-depth understanding of preservation planning, execution, and risk mitigation.

Solid grasp of technical sequences and material requirements.

Customer- and results-oriented, with a proactive, accountable, and solution-driven approach.

Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and subcontractors in complex project environments.

Full fluency in English; additional languages are advantageous in an international team workplace.

Information

Snowy 2.0 is a major expansion of the iconic Snowy Mountains Hydroelectric Scheme. When completed, it will deliver 2,000 megawatts of on-demand renewable energy and approximately 350,000 megawatt-hours of large-scale energy storage to the Australian National Electricity Market. Voith is the selected subcontractor for this work, and the Preservation Manager role is directly tied to this landmark project.
