Pre-press Operator – Flexographic & Digital Printing

We have again grown substantially over the last year and we now need more staff!

The introduction of new label formats and technology that is currently being successful in the UK and Europe has been successfully introduced to the APAC region which has contributed to our speedy growth within a very competitive Label & Packaging space.

We are looking for an experienced Pre-press Operator to join our Melbourne team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with solid experience in flexographic printing, a strong eye for detail and practical experience using PACKZ software. You will be joining a supportive, experienced team where quality, collaboration and getting the job right are genuinely valued.

About the Role

As our Pre-press Operator, you will play an important part in preparing customer artwork for flexo & digital print production, ensuring files are accurate, technically correct and ready for efficient manufacturing. Working closely with our production, customer service and wider pre-press teams, you will help maintain high standards of print quality while ensuring jobs move smoothly through the business.

Key responsibilities will include

- Preparing and checking artwork for flexo & digital printing
- Using PACKZ software for artwork preparation, trapping, colour separation and file optimisation
- Reviewing supplied artwork and identifying potential print or production issues
- Preparing print-ready files, step-and-repeat layouts and associated production files
- Managing colour separations, trapping, overprints and technical print requirements
- Liaising with production and customer service teams to resolve artwork queries
- Ensuring artwork complies with customer specifications and internal quality standards




- Maintaining accurate job records and pre-press documentation
- Supporting continuous improvement across the pre-press and production process

About You

We are looking for someone who brings both technical capability and a positive, team-focused attitude. Ideally, you will have:
- Previous experience in a flexographic printing pre-press environment
- Strong working knowledge and practical experience with PACKZ software
- Good understanding of flexographic printing processes and requirements
- Experience with colour separation, trapping, screening and print-ready artwork preparation
- Strong Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Creative Suite skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- The ability to manage multiple jobs and priorities in a busy manufacturing environment
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with production and customer service teams
- A strong commitment to quality and accuracy

Experience within the labels and packaging industry would be highly regarded.
