Procurement Category Manager

Reporting: Head of Procurement – Non-Grains

An opportunity currently exists for a Procurement Category Manager on a full-time permanent basis. Key Responsibilities

Lead and implement strategic sourcing activities to deliver the best value for money outcome for the organisation.

Lead supplier negotiations to ensure best commercial offer balanced with excellent quality and customer service

Ensure procurement of materials is managed through highest service level, lowest cost with innovation and efficiency.

Collaboration with key supply partners to ensure delivery of continuous improvement and innovation to drive better service, quality and cost.

Review and report on material costs and participate in cost reviews as required.

Monitor and report on supplier activities

Develop and implement effective risk management strategies to reduce and mitigate risks (financial, supply, service) to the organisation.

About

You To be successful in this role, you will have:

Tertiary qualification in either Procurement, Supply Chain & Logistics, Project Management, Business or CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) qualified





Minimum 10 years’ experience in procurement, preferably in the FMCG sector.

Experience in end-to-end procurement of packaging materials and commodities.

Experience managing commodities i.e. sugar, cocoa, vegetable oils, dairy, plastics, paper products

Experience in contract and supplier relationship management.

Experience working in complex multi-site operations.

Experience using ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 36

Strong leadership and project management

Excellent communication and presentation skills (both written and verbal)
