An opportunity currently exists for a Procurement Category Manager on a full time permanent basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and implement strategic sourcing activities to deliver the best value for money outcome for the organisation.
- Lead supplier negotiations to ensure best commercial offer balanced with excellent quality and customer service
- Ensure procurement of materials is managed through highest service level, lowest cost with innovation and efficiency.
- Collaboration with key supply partners to ensure delivery of continuous improvement and innovation to drive better service, quality and cost.
- Review and report on material costs and participate in cost reviews as required.
- Monitor and report on supplier activities
- Develop and implement effective risk management strategies to reduce and mitigate risks (financial, supply, service) to the organisation.
About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in either Procurement, Supply Chain & Logistics, Project Management, Business or CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) qualified
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in procurement, preferably in the FMCG sector.
- Experience in end-to-end procurement of packaging materials and commodities.
- Experience managing commodities i.e. sugar, cocoa, vegetable oils, dairy, plastics, paper products
- Experience in contract and supplier relationship management.
- Experience working in complex multi-site operations.
- Experience using ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 36
- Strong leadership and project management
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (both written and verbal)
- Excellent inter-personal and relationship building
