Role Description The Procurement Manager – Additives is a full-time, on-site role based in Australia. This role is responsible for managing the sourcing and purchasing of feed additives and related materials to ensure consistent quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliable supply. Day-to-day tasks include evaluating and selecting suppliers, negotiating contracts and pricing, monitoring market trends and commodity movements, and maintaining accurate procurement records.
The Procurement
Manager collaborates closely with production, quality, and logistics teams to align purchasing decisions with operational needs and customer requirements. The role also involves ongoing supplier relationship management, risk assessment,
and continuous improvement of procurement processes to support Reid Stockfeeds’ service and quality standards.
Qualifications
Solid procurement and supplier evaluation skills, including experience in sourcing feed additives or agricultural commodities.
Proficiency in contract negotiation and contract management to secure favorable terms and long-term supplier agreements.
Well-developed analytical skills to assess pricing, quality, supply risks, and market trends.
Experience in inventory planning, demand forecasting, and cost control within a manufacturing or agribusiness environment.
Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across operations, finance, and quality teams.
Solid understanding of supply chain principles and vendor performance management.
Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, agribusiness, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Proficiency with procurement or ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools.
Demonstrated ability to work on-site, make sound decisions under time pressure, and maintain high ethical standards in procurement activities.
