$200M Major Project | South Brisbane | Permanent Opportunity | Rail & Infrastructure An exciting chance has arisen for an experienced Project Engineer to join a leading National Tier 2 Contractor delivering one of South East Queensland's major infrastructure projects.
Working on a $200M project on Brisbane's south side, you will join a contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex civil and building projects within the Queensland Rail corridor and broader infrastructure sector.
This is a long-term, permanent opportunity with a business that has a significant pipeline of major projects and is playing a key role in the infrastructure transformation taking place across South East Queensland ahead of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will take ownership of a significant major structures package, overseeing the engineering delivery from planning through to completion.
You will be supported by a Site Engineer and Graduate Engineer, providing an excellent opportunity to take responsibility for a package while developing your leadership and project management capabilities.
Your responsibilities will include
- Managing the day-to-day engineering requirements of a major structures package.
- Providing technical and engineering support to site operations and the Project Manager.
- Managing subcontractors, consultants and suppliers to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with project requirements.
- Reviewing construction methodologies, drawings,
specifications and technical documentation.
- Managing RFIs, technical queries, inspections and approvals.
- Monitoring project progress, quality, costs and program against project requirements.
- Coordinating design and engineering interfaces across the project.
- Ensuring works comply with relevant standards, specifications and contractual requirements.
- Leading and mentoring the Site Engineer and Graduate Engineer reporting into you.
- Working closely with the construction team to identify and resolve engineering and construction issues.
- Maintaining strong relationships with the client, consultants and project stakeholders.
About You
You will be a Civil Engineer with a minimum of 5 years' post-graduate experience and a proven track record delivering complex structures packages within an infrastructure, civil construction or commercial building environment.
You will ideally bring
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- 5 years' post-graduate experience in construction.
- Proven experience delivering major structures packages.
- Experience working on complex infrastructure or commercial construction projects.
- Strong technical engineering and problem-solving capability.
- The ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate multiple project stakeholders.
- Previous experience supervising or mentoring junior engineers.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A practical, delivery-focused approach to engineering.
- Experience working within a rail environment or Queensland Rail corridor would be highly regarded.
