iCOST is seeking an experienced Project Engineer with strong structure experience to support several residential / commercial / data centre and logistics projects in Brisbane and South-East Queensland.
This is (initially) a contract opportunity suited to a proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced project environment and enjoys working closely with project teams to drive successful commercial and delivery outcomes.
About the Role
Working for a Tier One superstructure delivery Contractor, you will play a key role in driving productivity, checking drawings, organising labour / workfronts, stakeholder management, project coordination, planning, and reporting.
Key responsibilities include
- Day‑to‑day duties included recording labour and material expenditure for variations, progress claims, RFIs, and EOTs; checking work tolerances; reviewing programmes; and completing Q&S; checks.
- Driving productivity/ programme;
- Organising labour and materials;
- Coordinating project delivery activities across engineering, design, procurement, manufacturing, construction, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, clients, and other key stakeholders.
- Assisting with project cost control, forecasting, performance reporting, and project controls requirements.
- Monitoring project progress, programmes, procurement activities, long-lead items, risks, and key deliverables to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, technical documentation, and project requirements to support delivery and compliance.
- Maintaining accurate project documentation, reporting, programme updates, and workflows through Procore and other project management systems.
- Identifying and managing commercial, technical, schedule, and delivery risks before they impact project performance.
- Supporting quality assurance, compliance, governance, and project close-out activities.
- Working closely with Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects safely, efficiently, and in accordance with client expectations.
About You
You will have
- Relevant engineering or construction qualification.
- 5+ years’ experience as a Project Engineer with a focus on structure.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Sound understanding of project delivery methodologies, building regulations, tolerances and quality control.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a project team.
- Australian working rights.
