Project Manager – Control Systems (EI&C;)

We're seeking an experienced Control Systems Engineer with solid Project Management experience to lead the EI&C; scope on a major Cooper Basin capital project. This role suits a technically grounded engineer who has moved into project delivery, someone who understands control systems at an engineering level and can apply that depth to managing design, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning across the full project lifecycle. Based in the Adelaide office with regular site travel, you will manage specialist EI&C; contractors and coordinate with engineering partners to ensure seamless integration of electrical and control systems into the broader project.

THE ROLE Drawing on your control systems engineering background, you will take ownership of the EI&C; scope and manage its delivery across all project phases. Key responsibilities include:

- Take end-to-end ownership of the EI&C; scope across design, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning
- Apply engineering judgement to review and validate control systems design, ensuring technical integrity throughout delivery
- Manage specialist EI&C; contractors, including scope, schedule, technical performance and quality
- Coordinate with engineering partners to ensure seamless integration of electrical, instrumentation and control systems




- Identify and resolve technical risks and interface issues across the EI&C; scope
- Support FAT/SAT, testing and commissioning activities with hands-on technical input where required
- Ensure EI&C; delivery aligns with the broader project delivery framework, schedule and budget
- Travel to site regularly to support construction, testing and commissioning phases

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

- B.Eng Electrical (or equivalent) with a strong technical foundation in control systems
- Demonstrated experience as a Control Systems / EI&C; Engineer, ideally with exposure to DCS, PLC, SCADA or similar platforms
- Proven Project Management experience delivering EI&C; scope on capital projects, ideally within mining or oil & gas
- Strong understanding of design, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning phases from both an engineering and delivery perspective
- Experience managing specialist EI&C; contractors and coordinating multi-disciplinary engineering partners
- Working knowledge of relevant control systems and functional safety standards (e.g. IEC 61511, IEC 61508, SIL)
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical and commercial conversations
