Role Description

This is a full-time/part-time/casual position The Psychiatric Nurse is a contract, in office role based in Frenchs Forest, NSW. This role involves providing comprehensive mental health nursing care predominantly running TMS and Esketamine services under the direct guidance and supervision of the Psychiatrist.

The Psychiatric Nurse will support delivery of therapeutic interventions, assist with TMS and esketamine treatment workflows as appropriate, and contribute to safety and risk management plans. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining accurate clinical documentation, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, educating patients and families about treatment options, and advocating for person-centered, trauma-informed care.

Qualifications





- Demonstrated skills in Mental Health Nursing and Mental Health Care, with experience supporting individuals with a range of psychiatric presentations.
- Clinical competency in Nursing and Medicine principles relevant to psychiatric practice, including assessment, care planning, and pharmacological management.
- Foundational knowledge of Psychiatry, including evidence-based interventions and collaborative work within multidisciplinary psychiatric care teams.
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse (or equivalent) with the appropriate regulatory body and eligibility to practice in NSW.
- Experience in acute or community mental health settings; familiarity with advanced treatments such as TMS or esketamine is an advantage. Whilst prior experience is preferred, Psychosoma is happy to provide foundational and advanced training in TMS and Esketamine.
- Strong clinical documentation skills, sound judgment in risk assessment, and commitment to ethical, culturally safe, and trauma-informed practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build therapeutic relationships and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility to work contracted hours on-site, willingness to engage in ongoing professional development, and openness to reflective practice and supervision.
