We are currently on the hunt for a skilled Electrician who is seeking a career change, and is eager to expand their skill set to learn rail grinding as Machine Operator/Maintainers.
As a Trainee Operator/ Maintainer you will gain the skills and knowledge to operate and maintain our railing grinding machines and vehicles, ensuring they operate at their peak.
Its a role that combines the satisfaction of hands on electrical work with the thrill of operating some of the most advanced machinery in the rail industry. Every day is different, filled with opportunities to learn, grow and be apart of an amazing team.
All training will be provided by the company including Speno Rail's individual training program to ensure salary and level progression through the operator maintainer levels; Trainee Operator Maintainer, Competent Operator Maintainer, Cert III Qualified Operator Maintainer and Team Leader.
The successful applicants will be motivated, enthusiastic team players with a strong work ethic and the right abilities and attitude to succeed and progress.
The role:
- Operate track machinery and complete grinding work according to SRMA policies and procedures in line with client requirements.
- Complete statutory,
preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure operational efficiency and reliability of track machines, including testing, fault finding and troubleshooting.
- Operate fire tender vehicles safely and efficiently in rail environments and respond to rail-related fire incidents, hazardous material spills, and other emergencies.
- Completing safe working duties.
All applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Trade Qualified WA Electrician
- Current WA A Grade Electrical licence
- Committed to following the company's values
- Flexible and able to work well in a team
- Ability to meet production targets and goals efficiently and safely.
- Valid C class manual drivers licence essential
- Ability to follow instruction through to task completion
- Committed with 100% safety focus
- Excellent communication skills
- Fit to category 1 medical requirements with full colour vision
- FIFO from Perth
Desirable but not essential:
- HR licence
- 4wd Cert
- First Aid
- Rail experience
