About the role

Lumia Care Group is seeking a Registered Midwife to join our team in Sydney, NSW. This is a casual position offering flexible shifts to suit your lifestyle and commitments. As a Registered Midwife, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate, evidence-based care to mothers and newborns during one of the most significant periods of their lives.

This position offers the flexibility to work around your schedule whilst making a meaningful difference in the maternity and neonatal care setting.

What you'll be doing

- Providing comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care to pregnant women and new mothers
- Assisting with uncomplicated deliveries and supporting women throughout the labour process
- Monitoring the health and wellbeing of newborns, including vital signs assessment and neonatal screening
- Educating mothers on breastfeeding, infant care and postpartum recovery
- Maintaining detailed and accurate clinical documentation and medical records
- Collaborating with doctors, obstetricians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal maternal and neonatal outcomes
- Responding to emergency situations and providing immediate clinical interventions as required
- Supporting families with compassionate care and emotional support during their maternity journey
- Adhering to infection control protocols and maintaining a safe clinical environment

What we're looking for

- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Registered Midwife
- Valid Australian working rights and unrestricted practising certificate
- Demonstrated experience in midwifery or maternity care settings
- Strong clinical knowledge of normal labour and delivery, and ability to recognise complications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with women, families and multidisciplinary teams
- Current First Aid and CPR certification




- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Commitment to maintaining career development and continuing education
- Flexibility and adaptability to work across varying shift patterns
- Experience in neonatal care or special care nursery (SCN/NICU) settings is highly desirable
