Located just five minutes from the Ipswich CBD within the local medical precinct, St Andrew’s Ipswich Private Hospital is a 203-bed, fully accredited acute care facility. The hospital provides a comprehensive range of specialized services, including a 24-hour Emergency Department, advanced operating theatres. Patients have access to dedicated units for critical care, women’s and children’s health, oncology, and rehabilitation, supported by onsite radiology, pathology, and pharmacy services.

As a Registered Nurse in the Post-Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) you will be providing expert clinical monitoring and stabilisation for patients transitioning from anaesthesia following surgical procedures. The role requires rapid assessment of vital signs, airway management, and acute pain control within a fast-paced environment that supports a variety of surgical specialties. By collaborating closely with anaesthetists and surgical teams, the PACU nurse ensures each patient meets strict discharge criteria before safely returning to the ward or being discharged home.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Proven clinical experience within a Theatre Recovery.
- A strong dedication to providing high-quality,
patient-focused care.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment.
- A commitment to upholding the core values of Ramsay Health Care, including integrity, accountability, compassion, and innovation.
Essential:
- Relevant registration with AHPRA as Registered Nurse.
- Minimum three (3) in a Recovery nursing role essential.
- Previous experience working with Paediatric patients desirable.
- Paediatric and Adult Advanced life support desirable.
- Available to work across a 7-day rotating roster and take part in on call duties.
- Demonstrate the ability to assess, plan, coordinate and evaluate care delivery needs of patient.
- Exhibits exceptional customer service and time management abilities.
- Capable of thriving in a quick-paced environment while maintaining positive working relationships with others.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team and independently as required.
