About the role

We have an opportunity for a Reliability Engineer within our program delivery team, based in our Perth office, delivering heavy haul rolling stock maintenance strategy optimisation. You will use OXMT's IronMan® reliability platform and work with client SMEs to review rollingstock maintenance strategies asset class by asset class, producing the registers, evidence packs and maintenance documentation that turn analysis into approved, live changes in the client's maintenance system.

Key responsibilities

- Work from class-level rollingstock data captured in IronMan®: confirm coverage and data quality, express PM and failure events in counter units, and calculate counter accrual rates per unit and service profile.

- Derive the insights that drive strategy decisions — Pareto and work-mix analysis by system and component, task-to-failure-mode traces, Weibull fits per component per profile, Crow-AMSAA trends and interval position tests.

- Build and maintain program spreadsheets and registers, including service profile and accrual models, the strategy effectiveness register, the strategy change register and the benefits tracker.

- Collate the evidence pack behind each proposed change: analytics extracts, work order history, depot corroboration, cost and availability estimates and risk assessment inputs.

- Draft maintenance documentation — revised task descriptions, intervals, counter bases and plan variants — ready for engineering review and endorsement.

- Specify the resulting SAP master data changes and work with the master data engineer to load, test and verify them; prepare management-of-change and risk assessment paperwork.

- Attend depot sessions and site walks; record and tag findings against asset class, system, component and strategy line,

and follow up the technical questions they raise.

- Prepare charts, tables and reporting material, and refresh the analysis after implementation to track schedule compliance, counter data health and advantages realisation.

About you

- Degree in mechanical, electrical, mechatronic, reliability engineering or a related discipline.

- Experience in reliability engineering or maintenance strategy for heavy mobile assets.

- Applied experience with Weibull, Crow-AMSAA and Pareto analysis, and comfort with counter- and usage-based interval logic.

- Working knowledge of RCM and planned maintenance optimisation — failure mode mapping, task-to-mode traceability, failure-finding and run-to-failure logic.

- Strong spreadsheet and data-handling skills, and a disciplined, well-documented way of working (evidence packs, risk assessments, management of change).

- Working rights in Australia.
