Remote Area Nurse (RAN) - WA | Remote Community Health Contracts | Travel & Accommodation Provided

Are you an experienced Registered Nurse based in Perth, or or anywhere else in Australia / NZ, and are looking to step outside the hospital walls? Limelight People is recruiting Remote Area Nurses (RANs) for 4-12 week contract roles across remote Western Australia.

Work in Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services and remote clinics across the Pilbara, Kimberley and Goldfields regions, delivering primary health care where it's needed most. We also support Emergency Nurses transitioning into Remote Area Nursing for the first time.

Locations include

Kimberley Region Clinics: Includes remote community clinics such as One Arm Point, Lombadina, Looma, Noonkanbah, Wangkatjungka, Warmun, and Kalumburu

Midwest & Transitioned Sites: Includes recently integrated nursing posts and health centers like Burringurrah, Coral Bay, Yalgoo and Shark Bay

Other Regional Posts: Includes remote posts such as Bencubbin, Hyden, Eucla, Lancelin, and Walpole.

About the Role

- 4-12 week Remote Area Nursing contracts, with extensions often available
- Primary health care delivery in Aboriginal Community Health Clinics and remote outposts
- On-call / after-hours responsibilities depending on site
- Transition support available for Emergency Nurses current to remote practice

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver primary health care, chronic disease management and acute presentations autonomously
- Respond to emergency and urgent care presentations in a low-resource setting
- Provide culturally safe, community-centred care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients
- Work collaboratively with Aboriginal Health Workers and visiting specialist teams
- Maintain accurate clinical records and support health promotion initiatives





Skills & Experience Required

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (unrestricted)
- Recent Emergency Department, primary health or urgent care experience
- Remote or rural nursing experience highly desirable
- ALS / PALS, REC and MEC certifications
- Pharmacotherapeutics qualification
- Vaccination provider certificate
- RIPERN or FLECC qualification highly desirable
- Postgraduate qualifications in Remote Health Practice, Primary Health Care or Midwifery highly regarded
- National Police Check and up-to-date vaccination records
