About The Role

KAEFER is seeking experienced S26 Mechanical Supervisors, S26 Painting & Blasting Supervisors, and QA/QC NACE Inspectors to join a major structural remediation and protective coatings project in Kwinana, Western Australia.

This project is expected to run through to the Christmas shutdown period, with peak manning requirements from late September through to the end of November. The successful candidates will play a key role in delivering protected, effective, and high-quality outcomes across a scope of work involving blast and paint activities, structural steel installation, and steel replacement works.

Roster arrangements will vary based on available project resourcing. While a 2:1 roster may be available, the project's core workforce will operate on a Monday to Friday roster, with Saturday work preferred and incentivised. This work will be for people currently based locally in Perth. Interstate travel and visa sponsorship will not be on offer for these positions.

Key Responsibilities

S26 Mechanical Supervisors

- Lead and supervise structural steel installation, replacement, welding, and rigging activities.
- Coordinate labour, plant, equipment, and subcontractors to achieve project objectives.
- Ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.
- Drive compliance with KAEFER's Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical support to crews onsite.
- Monitor productivity, progress, and resource utilisation.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.

S26 Painting & Blasting Supervisors
- Lead blast and paint crews across multiple work fronts.
- Oversee surface preparation, coating application, and quality requirements.
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Coordinate workforce planning, daily schedules, and equipment requirements.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all site procedures.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for project personnel.





QA/QC NACE Inspector

- Conduct inspection and quality assurance activities across blasting, painting, and steel remediation works.
- Verify compliance with project specifications, coating requirements, and QA/QC processes.
- Maintain detailed inspection records, reports, and quality documentation.
- Liaise with client representatives and project teams regarding quality outcomes.
- Identify non-conformances and support corrective action processes.
- Provide technical guidance on coating systems and inspection requirements.

What We're Looking For

S26 Mechanical Supervisors

- Mechanical Trade Qualification (Certificate III or equivalent).
- Current Section 26 (S26) qualification.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience in structural steel, maintenance, shutdowns, construction, or heavy industry.
- Experience managing rigging, welding, and steel replacement activities.
- Current Working at Heights (WAH) certification.
- Current EWP licence/ticket.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Current C Class Driver's Licence.

S26 Painting & Blasting Supervisors
- Current Section 26 (S26) qualification.
- Proven supervisory experience within industrial painting and blasting projects.
- Strong understanding of coating systems, surface preparation standards, and quality requirements.
- Current Working at Heights (WAH) certification.
- Current EWP licence/ticket.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and planning skills.
- Current C Class Driver's Licence.

QA/QC NACE Inspector

- Current NACE Coating Inspector Certification (or equivalent recognised coating inspection qualification).
- Demonstrated experience in industrial coating inspection, asset integrity, mining, oil & gas,



or heavy industry environments.
- Strong understanding of blast and paint quality requirements and industry standards.
- Current Working at Heights (WAH) certification.
- Current EWP licence/ticket.
- Strong reporting, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Current C Class Driver's Licence.

Highly Regarded

- Coded welding qualifications (MMAW/Stick), particularly for positional welding work.
- Experience working within mining and industrial maintenance environments.
- Previous experience on structural remediation and asset integrity projects.
