Greater Hume Council is a large rural Council with a focus on responsibility, growth and sustainability. We are based in southern New South Wales, right near the Murray River, bordering Victoria and the local government areas of Albury, Federation, Lockhart, Snowy Valleys and Wagga Wagga Councils. About the Position

Greater Hume Children Services is seeking a passionate and experienced Second-In-Charge (2IC) to join our team at the Walla Walla Children Services Centre.

Greater Hume Children Services is an established early childhood education and care provider, dedicated to providing high quality education and care in a nurturing, nature based environment. Greater Hume operate four (4) Early Childhood Centres, across Culcairn, Henty, Holbrook and Walla Walla and three (3) OSHC services.

Working closely with the Centre Team Leader, the 2IC plays a pivotal leadership role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Centre and ensuring the delivery of high-quality education and care in a safe, inclusive and nurturing workplace.

As the 2IC, you will contribute to the leadership, administration and educational direction of the Centre by:

- Supporting the Centre Team Leader in the day-to-day management of the service
- Assisting with regulatory compliance, quality improvement and operational requirements
- Developing and implementing engaging educational programs aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework
- Mentoring and supporting educators
- Leading Centre operations in the absence of the Centre Team Leader.

You will work alongside the Centre Team Leader (currently also being recruited) and a dedicated, experienced management team that values collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement. This is an exciting opportunity to further develop your leadership skills while making a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families within our community.

Salary and Hours

This permanent full time position offers a salary ranging from $38.75 to $43.40 gross per hour, plus applicable allowances and 12% Council superannuation. The role is based on a 38-hour working week, Monday to Friday, with shifts rostered between the Centre's operating hours of 7.30am to 5.30pm.

Essential Requirements:

To be considered for this position,



applicants must hold or be willing to obtain:

- Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, or be enrolled and actively working towards completion
- Demonstrated knowledge of the National Quality Framework and Early Years Learning Framework;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Current NSW Working with Children Check Clearance (employee)
- National Police Check Clearance within the last 6 months
- Current First Aid in Education and Care Setting, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Training
- Child Protection Certificate
- Current Driver Licence.
