About the Role
We currently have vacancies at our Box Hill and Chadstone campuses for experienced VCE English and/or VCE English language teachers. If you're committed to academic excellence and available to teach after school and on Saturdays, we want to hear from you!
This opportunity is offered as an ongoing casual position with an immediate start.
As a Subject Teacher, you will inspire students to develop a strong appreciation for English while supporting them to achieve their academic goals. You will demonstrate a thorough understanding of the current VCE Study Design, subject content, and effective teaching practices to maximise student outcomes.
Duties of this role will include but not be limited to:
- Preparing and delivering engaging VCE English and/or VCE English Language classes that develop students' analytical skills, exam techniques, and understanding of texts and language conventions
- Differentiate instruction to support students with varying abilities and learning needs.
- Use effective teaching strategies to maximise student engagement and achievement.
- Provide constructive feedback to assist students in improving their academic performance.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and child-safe learning environment.
- Work collaboratively to maintain a positive and supportive teaching culture
About You
Along with your strong work ethic and passion for helping students succeed you'll have/be:
- Registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT)
- Able to demonstrate excellence in secondary English teaching
- Available and versatile to work after school hours and Saturdays
- Hold full Australian working rights or be a permanent resident
- A minimum of 2 years secondary English teaching experience.
- Confident in teaching contemporary language techniques, metalanguage and writing conventions
- Thorough with the preparation of texts and materials to support students
- The ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities
- Work with a colleague as a team member in a supportive environment
