Section Waiter — The Cottage Balmain

About Us The Cottage Balmain is a heritage-style restaurant and bar housed in one of Darling Street’s most charming sandstone cottages. With leafy courtyards, warm timber interiors, and a lively neighbourhood atmosphere, we’re a place where guests gather for great food, genuine hospitality, and beautiful drinks — from a crisp Hugo Spritz to a classic Negroni.

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Section Waiter to join our front-of-house team. You’ll be delivering genuine service, and helping create the warm, welcoming energy The Cottage is known for.

Key Responsibilities

- Owning your section and delivering polished, attentive, and friendly service
- Greeting guests, taking orders confidently, and guiding them through the menu
- Recommending wine, cocktails, and dishes with genuine knowledge and enthusiasm
- Coordinating with the bar, kitchen, and pass to ensure seamless service flow
- Managing multiple tables efficiently during busy services
- Maintaining clean, organised tables
- Processing payments accurately and finalising bills
- Upselling thoughtfully to enhance the guest experience
- Supporting the team with resets,



turnarounds, and general FOH duties

About You

- Confident cocktail knowledge and practical bar experience.
- Passionate about hospitality, presentation, and guest experience.
- Positive, team-focused attitude and attention to detail.
- Available for evenings and weekends.
- Current NSW RSA essential.
