Senior Accountant | Sonnel Hospitality

Sonnel Hospitality is on the lookout for a commercially minded Senior Accountant to join our growing Finance team.

With 20 venues across Sydney—including iconic locations like The Crossroads (Casula), Firehouse Hotel (North Sydney), and Australian Hotel Brewery (Rouse Hill)—we’re a agile and expanding hospitality group spanning gaming, accommodation, brewery operations, food and beverage.

This is an opportunity to step into a hands-on role where you’ll play a key part in driving financial accuracy, supporting operational decision-making, and raising the bar across the business.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the month-end close process and balance sheet reconciliations

- Deliver accurate financial reporting and variance analysis

- Prepare BAS, IAS, gaming tax, excise, and payroll tax returns

- Manage cashflow, accruals, and fixed asset registers

- Partner with payroll, AP/AR, and offshore teams

- Support audits and ensure compliance obligations are met

- Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and financial insights





- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve controls

- Contribute to ad hoc projects and continuous improvement initiatives

About You

- CPA or CA qualified

- 2+ years’ experience in a similar role

- Strong understanding of end-to-end accounting processes

- Proven experience with month-end, reporting, and tax compliance

- Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical capability

- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills

Highly Regarded

- Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems

- Background in hospitality or multi-site environments

- Exposure to POS, gaming, or venue systems
