About The Role

Reporting to the Drafting Manager, you will take a senior role in the drafting and design of HVAC projects, working closely with Project Managers, Engineers, clients, consultants and site teams to turn design intent into accurate, coordinated and constructible solutions.

This is a role where your technical knowledge will have a genuine impact. You'll be involved across the project lifecycle — from design development and coordination through to construction and As Installed documentation.

Key responsibilities will include

- Developing detailed HVAC and mechanical services designs, including ductwork, piping and equipment layouts using Revit and AutoCAD.
- Coordinating mechanical services with architectural, structural, electrical and plumbing disciplines using Navisworks and Revit.
- Interpreting consultant and tender documentation and translating design intent into practical, buildable solutions.
- Supporting system design development, equipment selection, material take-offs,



schedules and technical submissions.
- Undertaking design coordination, clash detection, site assessments and measurements.
- Conducting QA reviews to ensure drawings meet design intent, project specifications and client requirements.
- Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers, builders, consultants and site teams to resolve design and coordination issues.
- Providing leadership, mentoring and guidance to Draftspersons and Trainee Draftspersons.
- Supporting resource planning and ensuring drafting deliverables align with project programmes.

About You We are looking for someone who combines strong technical HVAC drafting capability with the confidence to lead, collaborate and solve problems.

You may be an established Senior Draftsperson, or an experienced Draftsperson ready to take the next step in your career. Most importantly, you'll be someone who takes ownership, communicates well and enjoys working as part of a high-performing team.

- Strong experience in HVAC / mechanical services drafting within construction or engineering.
- Advanced capability in Revit, AutoCAD and Navisworks.
- A strong understanding of HVAC system layouts and mechanical services coordination.
- An understanding of associated plumbing, electrical and fire protection services.




- Knowledge of duct and pipe sizing, airflow distribution and pressure loss calculations.
- Strong knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and construction requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and a genuine commitment to quality.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver within project timeframes.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Previous experience mentoring or leading other Draftspersons.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to challenges.
- A collaborative and positive approach to working with others.
