Role Description The HVAC Senior Estimator is a full time role based in Perth, WA, responsible for leading the preparation of accurate and competitive estimates for electrical, HVAC, infrastructure and technology projects. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing project documentation, conducting quantity take-offs, developing cost models, and preparing detailed tender submissions and budgets.

The role collaborates closely with project managers, engineers and procurement teams to validate scope, evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations, and manage clarifications and variations.

The Senior

Estimator also contributes to bid strategy, identifies cost and value engineering opportunities, maintains up-to-date pricing databases, and supports post-tender negotiations and handover to delivery teams.



This position plays a key role in ensuring bids align with Fredon’s commercial, safety and quality standards while meeting client requirements.

Qualifications

- Strong experience in estimation and cost planning for mechanical & HVAC projects.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications and contract documents, with solid quantity take-off and measurement skills.
- Competence with estimating and project costing software, along with advanced MS Excel and general digital literacy.
- Knowledge of Australian construction standards, procurement processes, and tendering practices within commercial and industrial sectors.
- Excellent analytical, numerical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy under deadlines.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work effectively with internal teams, clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Demonstrated experience in a senior or lead estimating role, ideally within building services or engineering contracting environments.
- Relevant tertiary qualification or trade background in engineering, construction management, quantity surveying or a related discipline.
- Commitment to safety, quality and sustainable project outcomes, with a proactive and ethical approach to commercial decision-making.
