The Role

This is an opportunity for an experienced Senior Estimator to take ownership of complete commercial construction tenders and play a key role in the continued growth of the business.

You will manage tenders from initial review through to final submission while working closely with the estimating, construction and leadership teams.

The role offers autonomy to influence tender strategy, improve estimating processes and contribute directly to project selection and business growth.

Responsibilities

- Manage complete commercial construction tenders valued from approximately $4 million to $15 million
- Review drawings, specifications, tender documentation and contract requirements
- Complete quantity take-offs, cost plans and first-principles estimates
- Prepare preliminaries, site establishment costs and construction allowances
- Develop scopes and issue trade packages to subcontractors and suppliers
- Analyse subcontractor quotations and identify scope gaps, risks and opportunities
- Prepare tender qualifications, exclusions, methodologies and supporting documentation
- Participate in tender adjudications and provide recommendations on pricing, risk and margin
- Work closely with project teams to transfer estimating knowledge into delivery
- Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and clients
- Improve estimating processes, systems and tender methodologies




- Provide guidance and support to other members of the estimating team

About you You will be an experienced Senior Estimator with demonstrated experience pricing complete commercial construction projects for a head contractor.

What we are looking for

- Head-contractor estimating experience within the Australian commercial construction market
- Experience managing complete tenders across all trade packages
- Strong knowledge of preliminaries, subcontractor analysis, tender risk and final adjudication
- Experience pricing projects valued from approximately $4 million to $15 million or above
- Strong technical and structural construction knowledge
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and contract documentation
- Commercial awareness and strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and competing deadlines
- Strong communication and subcontractor relationships
- A collaborative and accountable working style
- Experience across education, commercial, heritage, remediation, refurbishment or projects delivered within live environments would be highly regarded.

Candidates whose experience is limited to specialist subcontractor or single-trade estimating will not be suitable for this position.
