Are you an experienced HSE professional who leads from the front and is passionate about creating safer workplaces?

We're seeking an experienced Senior HSE Advisor to take ownership of all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) activities on a major construction project. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key leadership role, working alongside project management, site teams and subcontractors to drive compliance, continuous improvement and a strong Zero Harm culture.

The Role

Located approx. 3 hours from Melbourne and reporting to the HSE Manager, you will work closely with the Project Director and Construction Manager, being the lead HSE representative on site. You'll provide visible leadership, mentor project personnel, oversee compliance, and ensure HSEQ systems are effectively implemented throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead all HSEQ activities across the project
- Foster and promote a positive safety culture through visible leadership
- Develop, review and continuously improve HSEQ systems, procedures and digital platforms
- Conduct site inspections, audits, risk assessments and compliance reviews
- Prepare and review Safe Work Procedures, JHAs and work plans
- Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and ongoing HSEQ training
- Lead incident investigations and ensure timely reporting and corrective action close-out
- Provide technical HSEQ advice to project teams and subcontractors
- Support compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems
- Build strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors and project stakeholders.

About You To be successful, you'll bring:





- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (Diploma highly regarded)
- Minimum 3 years' experience in an HSEQ Advisory or Leadership role
- At least 2 years' experience within the construction industry
- Current Construction White Card
- Current First Aid & CPR certification
- Sound knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and risk management
- Experience working within ISO management systems
- Strong auditing, investigation and reporting experience
- A proactive, hands-on leadership style with the ability to influence positive safety behaviours
- Full Australian working rights

Desirable

- Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor qualifications
- ICAM Investigation training
- Certificate IV Training & Assessment
- Working at Heights
- High Risk Work Licence
- Environmental qualifications
- Drug & Alcohol Testing certification

- Monday to Friday roster, 7:00am - 5:00pm, with rostered half days on Saturdays
