About the role
Growth across the business has opened up a newly created position for an experienced construction lawyer to join their in-house team. You will be embedded with commercial and delivery teams, shaping outcomes long before problems land on your desk.
Your responsibilities will include
- Leading contract negotiations across a portfolio of major infrastructure and construction projects
- Shaping procurement approach and reviewing tender documentation
- Identifying and mitigating legal and commercial risk throughout the project lifecycle
- Acting as a trusted advisor to project directors and senior stakeholders
- Resolving contractual disputes and variations as they arise on-site
- Coaching and upskilling junior team members on contract law fundamentals
- Instructing and reviewing the work of external counsel
- Contributing to the modernisation of legal templates, playbooks and internal processes

The successful individual will possess:
- At least 7 years PQE, ideally gained within a top-tier construction or infrastructure environment
- A solid grounding in front-end contract work, with exposure to dispute resolution being an added bonus

- A calm, practical approach under pressure and someone who is solution focussed
- Confidence engaging and influencing at all levels of a business
