About the role:
Reporting to the Director of Product Planning and Marketing, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of vehicles spanning multiple categories and segments. You will be the end-to-end owner of each product, acting as their champion across all disciplines in the business, making sure they’re performing at their absolute best and receiving their fair share of attention.
Key responsibilities:
Product Planning & Launch Execution
· Lead the planning and execution of new model introductions (NPI), facelifts, and lifecycle actions
· Manage the cross functional go-to-market execution, ensuring readiness across Sales, Marketing, Aftersales, Supply, PR, and Dealer Network teams
· Oversee accuracy and approval of product marketing materials, product communication frameworks, launch messaging, campaign narratives,
and customer-facing content
Product Positioning, Pricing & Commercial Strategy
· Develop business cases for new product introductions, including volume, revenue, margin, and investment assumptions
· Ensure alignment between pricing strategy, brand positioning, dealer commercial viability, and market competitiveness
· Analyse and forecast product profitability and contribution margin across the lifecycle, balancing cost, specification, pricing, and market expectations
Market Intelligence, Consumer Insights & Competitive Strategy
· Lead deep market analysis covering customer needs, competitor positioning, pricing, consumer behaviour, media trends, and emerging market opportunities
· Translate market intelligence and customer insights into actionable product and pricing strategies
· Develop a reporting structure to provide regular strategic recommendations and insights to senior leadership regarding market direction, customer trends, and competitive landscape changes
· Identify and propose solutions for portfolio gaps and opportunities across segments, powertrains (ICE/Hybrid/EV), customer demographics, and price positioning
Volume, Demand & Retail Performance Strategy
· Support volume planning, demand forecasting, and mix strategy for allocated model portfolio in collaboration with Sales and Supply teams
· Align product strategy with supply constraints,
production allocation, retail targets, and business objectives
· Support optimisation of model mix, variants, pricing actions, and tactical campaigns to balance volume growth and profitability
Customer Experience, Brand Experience & Product Localisation
· Adopt a customer-centric approach across both product planning and product marketing activities
· Capture and utilise structured dealer feedback, customer insights, market research, and frontline retail intelligence in product decisions
· Support local product strategy, ensuring alignment with customer expectations, ownership experience, and market usage scenarios
· Ensure customer experience, product features, and ownership journey are aligned to brand strategy and competitive positioning
HQ & Global Stakeholder Management
· Coordinate with HQ and global counterparts regarding product roadmap, specifications and launch timing
Job Requirements:
· Ideally 10 years of experience in Automotive operations in Australia
· With at least 5 years in Product Planning and/or Market Intelligence or Data Analytics preferred
· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marketing, Industrial Design, Business or related field, or automotive mechanical technician or trade experience is highly desirable
· High level of mechanical aptitude with an interest in technology
· Demonstrable project management skills and experience owning and delivering products
