Join a Tier I Mechanical Contractor delivering major projects across WA An opportunity has become available for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a leading Tier I Mechanical Contractor in Perth.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer who wants to move beyond purely technical design and play a more significant role in the commercial and practical delivery of major HVAC projects.

The business has a strong pipeline of major projects across healthcare, defence and education, providing exposure to some of the most technically challenging building projects in the Perth market.

The Role

Working closely with the project delivery, design and engineering teams, you will be responsible for developing and coordinating mechanical services designs while ensuring solutions are technically sound, commercially viable and practical to construct.

Your responsibilities will include

- Designing and developing HVAC and mechanical services systems for major building projects.
- Producing and reviewing mechanical design documentation, calculations and specifications.
- Developing HVAC solutions from concept through to detailed design and construction.
- Working closely with project teams, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Providing technical input into design development and value engineering.
- Reviewing designs from a constructability, cost and commercial perspective.
- Supporting the selection and sizing of HVAC equipment and systems.
- Coordinating mechanical services with other building disciplines and project stakeholders.
- Reviewing technical documentation to ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards and NCC requirements.
- Assisting with technical submissions, RFIs and design changes throughout project delivery.

About You Ideally,



you will be a Mechanical Engineer with 5+ years' experience designing HVAC systems within the building services sector.

You will ideally have

- A Mechanical Engineering qualification.
- 5+ years' experience in building services HVAC design.
- Strong knowledge of Australian Standards, NCC requirements and HVAC design principles.
- Experience designing large-scale chilled water systems.
- Experience working on major commercial building projects.
- Previous experience within either a mechanical consultancy or mechanical contracting environment.
- The ability to understand how design decisions impact cost, constructability, programme and project delivery.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively with project and construction teams.

Experience across healthcare, defence, education, data centres or other technically complex projects will be highly regarded. Why Join?
