We are seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our friendly and energetic team in an ophthalmology subspecialty medical practice. The practice is located at St Andrew's Hospital, and is focused on the treatment of medical and surgical problems concerning the eye. Candidates must have a minimum of 1-2 years medical reception experience.

Australian work rights are required for this position.

To be successful you will need to be flexible with starting and finishing times, as the practice keeps extended hours. .

Hours vary by week and flexibility is essential. 2-3 Shifts a week.

Responsibilities

Ensure the following 'in house' services are delivered in a smooth and effective manner:

- Taking incoming telephone calls, make telephone calls to book new patients and review patients, manage patient billing and receipting, surgery quotes and booking, consultation list preparation, sending letters/reports to referrers




- Function in a highly organised and time efficient manner at all times, problem solve, meet deadlines and carry out tasks reliably

Preferred skills/experience:
- Gentu practice software or similar
- A knowledge base of Medicare
- Demonstrated outstanding customer service and people skills with the ability to relate well to patients, and communicate with health care professionals/external health facilities appropriately
- Demonstrated high level of motivation and operate with attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task within a fast paced working environment
- Be able to take direction
- Work unsupervised
