Mid & Senior Software Engineers - Sydney or Remote within Australia (Eastern Seaboard)

I'm working with an ambitious Space technology company building software that solves genuinely difficult problems across the aerospace industry. This is an opportunity to join a small, highly technical team where software is central to the product.

You'll work closely with engineers, customers and technical leaders to build products that sit much closer to the real world than your typical SaaS application.

What you'll be doing

- Designing and building production software from the ground up
- Developing backend services and APIs in Python
- Building intuitive interfaces using React and TypeScript (Back End Python experience much more valuable; React is a plus)
- Working with AWS and modern cloud infrastructure
- Solving complex technical and engineering problems
- Working closely with customers to understand how the product needs to evolve
- Making architectural decisions and influencing the direction of the platform
- Taking ownership from idea through to deployment and production

What we're looking for We're interested in engineers who are genuinely curious about difficult problems and want to work somewhere they can have a visible impact.





Depending on your seniority, you'll likely bring:

- Strong software engineering fundamentals
- Professional experience with Python
- Experience building production applications and APIs
- Exposure to React and TypeScript
- Experience working with AWS or another major cloud platform
- A strong understanding of software design and architecture
- The ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy

You don't need to come from an aerospace background, but major bonus points if you've studied or worked in technically complex environments such as robotics, autonomous systems, mechatronics, defence, simulation, embedded systems, mechanical engineering, physics or similar. What matters more is that you're an excellent engineer who enjoys learning current domains, getting close to the problem and figuring out how to build something that works.
