A major bank in Sydney is seeking a Senior Network Automation Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities

- Design deploy, operate, and enhance the software platforms and automation systems that underpin modern network engineering.

- Transform complex network workflows into scalable, reliable internal tools and services that improve operational efficiency and resilience.

- Collaborate closely with network engineers to understand challenges, develop creative solutions, and continuously improve how large-scale networks are managed and automated.

- This is a software-first role focused on building robust automation frameworks, platforms, and testing capabilities that support day-to-day network operations.

Key Skills / Experience





- Networking Software Development – Experience building applications in the networking domain.

- Strong hands-on with Ansible and Terraform, including custom plugins/modules, and familiarity with infrastructure/config-as-code.

- Solid understanding of operating systems, Linux, and container platforms (Docker/Kubernetes).

- Proficiency in Python with experience in code reviews, pull requests, and structured problem-solving.

- Ability to write database queries, with working knowledge of MongoDB.

- Experience with testing strategies, build/packaging systems, dependency management, and CI/CD pipelines (preferably Jenkins).
