An exciting opportunity exists to join our Workforce Operations team as an experienced Senior Payroll Officer, supporting the delivery of accurate, compliant and customer-focused payroll services across Helping Hand.

Reporting to the Payroll Team Leader, the Senior Payroll Officer will play an important role in ensuring our employees are paid accurately and on time, while providing expert advice and support on payroll conditions, awards, agreements, entitlements and employee benefits.
This is a hands-on role where your payroll expertise, attention to detail and commitment to customer service will make a real difference to our people and the wider organisation.
You’ll also make an impact by:
- Processing accurate and timely fortnightly payroll and maintaining high levels of data integrity
- Interpreting awards, enterprise agreements and legislation to ensure payroll conditions and entitlements are applied correctly
- Providing timely payroll advice and support to employees, managers and leaders across Helping Hand
- Supporting key payroll activities including end-of-month, FBT and financial year processes
- Identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes, systems and service delivery
What you’ll bring To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar payroll role, with demonstrated end-to-end payroll experience in a medium to large organisation
- Sound knowledge and understanding of industrial awards, enterprise agreements and employment conditions
- Experience working with HR and payroll systems, with strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with a commitment to delivering high-quality customer service
- A current valid NDIS check, or willingness to obtain one
You’ll stand out from the crowd if you have some of the following:
- Experience working within the aged care sector
- Experience using PayGlobal, Aurion or Optima
- Knowledge of superannuation, salary packaging and employee benefits
