Photo Editing & Production Team Leader –

Impress Photography | Hawthorn, Melbourne Impress Photography is looking for an experienced Photo Editor / Production Team Leader to join our team at our Hawthorn studio.

For more than 10 years, Impress Photography has been one of Melbourne’s leading photographic studios, specialising in high-end commercial and residential real estate photography, aerial photography and video, as well as hotel, tourism and lifestyle photography and video.

We have built our reputation around producing exceptional-quality work, providing outstanding service to our clients and continually evolving the way we work. We are now looking for someone who shares our commitment to quality, people and innovation to take a key role within our production team.

This position would ideally suit someone who combines strong technical photo editing skills with excellent leadership, communication and client service skills.

Ideally, you will already have experience working within real estate photography, property marketing or a high-volume creative production environment, and understand the importance of quality, consistency and fast turnaround times.

We are looking for someone who can lead from the front — someone who enjoys working with people, can manage competing priorities, has high standards and is equally comfortable working alongside our production team as they are communicating directly with clients.

The Role

You will play a key role in managing the day-to-day workflow, people and quality within our photographic production department.

Your responsibilities will include

- Leading, supporting and mentoring members of our photo editing and production team
- Editing and overseeing the editing of high-quality real estate photography
- Managing daily production workflows, priorities and deadlines
- Maintaining consistent quality standards across all client work
- Quality controlling completed jobs prior to delivery
- Working closely with photographers, management and other members of the production team




- Communicating directly with clients when required and confidently resolving production or editing requests
- Helping to develop and improve production systems, processes and efficiencies
- Identifying opportunities to incorporate AI into our editing and production workflows
- Staying up to date with Adobe, AI and emerging creative technologies

About You

Our ideal candidate will have:
- Strong professional photo editing and retouching experience
- Previous experience within real estate photography, property marketing or a similar creative production environment
- Previous team leadership, production management or supervisory experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A positive, approachable and supportive leadership style
- The confidence and personality to communicate directly with clients
- Strong attention to detail and an excellent eye for photographic quality
- The ability to manage a fast-moving production environment and multiple deadlines
- Excellent Mac skills
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and the Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience with Adobe Firefly
- A robust understanding of AI tools and emerging AI technology
- An interest in using AI to improve creative outcomes, workflows and production efficiency
- A willingness to embrace new technologies and continually improve the way we work

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is personable, dependable and a great leader. Technical ability is important, but just as important is your ability to communicate, build relationships, motivate and support a team, and create a positive working environment.

You should also be comfortable in a client-facing role when required. Our relationships with our clients are extremely important to us, so we are looking for someone who can communicate professionally,



understand client requirements and confidently help resolve any issues that arise.

Not Quite at Team Leader Level Yet?

While our preference is to find an experienced production team leader, we are also very interested in hearing from talented people who may not yet have extensive leadership or real estate industry experience. If you have exceptional Adobe Photoshop and Creative Suite skills, strong AI knowledge, excellent interpersonal skills and a genuinely personable nature, we would still love to hear from you.
