Mead Medical is looking for an experienced and confident Registered Nurse to join our nursing team in a senior, hands-on capacity.

We already have a great team of experienced nurses. What we are looking for now is someone who brings that extra level of leadership, calm and coordination to the treatment room — the person who can see what needs doing, bring people together and help keep the day moving.

You might be the nurse who others naturally ask, “What do you think?”

The person who stays calm when the treatment room gets busy, notices when a colleague needs support, helps prioritise the workload and somehow keeps everyone positive and focused.

We’re looking for someone who brings a steadying presence to the team — supportive and approachable, but confident enough to step forward and lead when needed.

About the role

This is a hands-on clinical nursing role with additional responsibility for day-to-day coordination and leadership.

Working alongside our Nurse Manager and Practice Manager, you will help provide consistent senior nursing coverage across the week and support the smooth operation of our treatment rooms.

Your day may include

- Providing hands-on general practice nursing care
- Coordinating treatment room workflow and helping prioritise competing demands
- Being a senior point of contact for nurses, doctors and reception staff
- Supporting and mentoring less confident team members
- Keeping the team calm, focused and solutions-oriented during busy periods
- Identifying problems early and taking initiative to resolve them
- Supporting clinical standards, infection control, cold chain and accreditation requirements
- Assisting with recalls,



immunisations, wound care, procedures and chronic disease management
- Helping maintain clear communication between the nursing, medical and administration teams
- Supporting the Nurse Manager with the day-to-day leadership of the nursing team

This isn't a role where you'll spend your day sitting in an office managing people. We want you in the treatment room, working alongside the team and leading from within it. The person we're looking for

Clinical experience matters, but personality and leadership style matter just as much to us.

We're looking for someone who is:

- An experienced Registered Nurse, ideally with general practice or primary care experience
- Clinically confident and comfortable making decisions within their scope
- Naturally organised and able to see the bigger picture
- Calm under pressure
- Positive and solutions-focused
- Approachable and supportive
- Comfortable giving direction when needed
- A strong communicator with nurses, doctors, administration staff and patients
- Someone who takes initiative rather than waiting to be asked
- A genuine team player who thinks in terms of “we” rather than “I”
- Able to balance kindness with accountability

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who brings stability to a team. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room.



You do need to be someone whose presence makes the room work better.

Hours

We are particularly interested in someone who can provide reliable coverage across daytime hours and multiple days each week.

We understand that flexibility matters and are happy to discuss the right arrangement with the right person. However, consistent availability is important for this particular position because one of the key purposes of the role is to strengthen senior nursing coverage throughout the week.

Ideally we are looking for 30 hours per week.
