Primary objective

Provide specialist advice, information and assistance to government, the petroleum and geothermal industry and the general

public on the administration, statutory and procedural requirements of onshore petroleum, geothermal and pipeline tenure

and undertake a range of project and legislative work on petroleum, geothermal and pipeline tenure.

Key duties and responsibilities

1.



Provide high quality client service and advice to ensure statutory compliance in the processing of applications, dealings

and maintenance of petroleum and geothermal tenure.

1. Prepare accurate and timely reports, Ministerial documentation, correspondence, and statistics to a high level.
2. Develop and review procedures related to petroleum and geothermal tenure management.
3. Monitor and manage petroleum and geothermal database information to ensure accuracy.
4. Monitor and prepare title maps through the relevant Title Management / Map Info systems and provide assistance to

clients and the public in the navigation of the mapping systems.

1. Assist the Petroleum Registrar with specific projects.

Selection criteria
Essential

1. High-level experience of oral, written and interpersonal skills and solid customer service focus.
2. Demonstrated experience with interpreting, understanding and applying complex legislation.
3. Demonstrated ability to research and evaluate issues, define options and present recommendations to senior

management.

1. Demonstrated ability to maintain, manage and monitor database information including development of ad hoc reports.
2. Ability to work in a small team with changing priorities.
3. Demonstrated organisational skills, working with limited direction to achieve outcomes in a timely manner.

Desirable

1. Knowledge of the petroleum and geothermal industry and the administration of petroleum and geothermal titles.
2. An understanding of geographical information systems for mapping and management of spatial data.
