We are seeking a skilled and proactive Commercial Manager to join our team and provide strategic commercial support to the Business Units within the Australia Sector. This role is pivotal in both establishing new commercial arrangements (pre-contract award) and managing existing contracts (post-contract award), helping ensure commercial excellence across the organisation.

As the Commercial Manager, you will:

/n

/n

- Lead the review, development, and negotiation of current commercial arrangements, including the evaluation of commercial risks

/n

- Collaborate with the Procurement Lead to develop subcontracts that appropriately flow down prime contract requirements

/n

- Review and draft commercial documents such as contract amendments, NDAs, R&D; and innovation contracts, and inter company agreements

/n

- Support project teams with contract execution, issue resolution, and contract close-out at the end of contract performance

/n

- Promote a culture of compliance, risk awareness, and proactive commercial management.

/n

- Facilitate the commercial review and approval process, escalating to the appropriate delegate as required

/n

- Advise on approval and execution procedures in line with the company's delegation of authority framework

/n

- Ensure document control by managing records and uploading documents to the Contract Management System

/n

- Provide mentorship and guidance to Commercial Officers to support professional development and capability growth.

About You:

/n

You are a commercially astute professional with strong contract negotiation and risk management skills. You bring a pragmatic approach to problem-solving and excel in stakeholder engagement across all levels.

/n

/n

- A Bachelor Degree in a commercial field, such as business, accounting, law or a related field

/n





- Strong experience gained in managing a analysing, developing and negotiating contracts (Defence industry or similar, highly regarded)

/n

- Relevant experience working in a commercial contracting environment, ideally with experience in both the pre and post-contract award stages

/n

- Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and build trust across multiple stakeholders.

/n/n

With regards to location, we are flexible to consider applicants from Canberra, Adelaide, Melbourne or Brisbane.

/n

Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be eligible for Australian Defence security clearance.

/n
