An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Survey Manager or Senior Surveyor ready to step into leadership with an established and growing Australian surveying business.
Our client provides specialist surveying services across major construction, infrastructure and development projects. With a strong reputation for quality, technical expertise and client service, the business has an established team of surveying professionals and continues to grow its project portfolio.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll manage and develop the Canberra survey team while remaining actively involved onsite, working alongside your team and clients.

The Role

Reporting to senior operations management, you will take ownership of the performance, development and deployment of the Canberra surveying team.
Key responsibilities include:

- Lead, coach and mentor a team of surveyors
- Allocate surveyors across projects to maximise productivity and delivery
- Remain hands-on with setout, surveying and onsite QA
- Conduct quality checks and project audits
- Manage workflow and forecast future resource requirements
- Build robust relationships with clients and assist with technical queries
- Monitor team performance, KPIs, overtime and timesheets
- Support surveyor health, safety and wellbeing
- Assist with project planning, pricing and revenue forecasting
- Improve systems, procedures and surveying workflows




- Work closely with operations and recruitment to support continued team growth

About You

You’ll combine strong technical surveying knowledge with the leadership skills to develop people, solve problems and maintain high standards across projects.
You will ideally have:

- Strong construction and engineering surveying experience
- Previous leadership, team management or senior surveying experience
- Strong knowledge of construction drawings
- Experience with Total Stations, GPS and CAD/surveying software
- Strong knowledge of DTMs and alignments
- Experience with setout, monitoring and scan processing
- High-rise and/or RMS/TfNSW experience highly regarded
- Project auditing, pricing and project management experience
- Strong client and stakeholder management skills
- Diploma in Surveying or higher
- Current White Card and driver's licence
