The South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre (SATAC) provides reliable, efficient, and creative tertiary admissions services for institutions in SA and the NT. Each year, we manage thousands of applications, publish key information for students, and support pathways into higher education. What is the role on offer?

This role is offered on an initial two-year contract, with the possibility of becoming permanent based on the successful establishment of a self-funding model.

We’re seeking an experienced and commercially minded Business Development & Growth Lead to identify, develop and deliver initiatives that drive revenue diversification, sustainable growth, and market expansion for SATAC.

Reporting to the Chief Strategy & Enablement Officer, this newly created role will play a key part in translating strategy into practical growth opportunities. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, you will identify and pursue new revenue streams, strengthen SATAC’s value proposition, build strategic partnerships, and support coordinated market engagement activities across the organisation.

Working closely with senior leaders, member institutions, industry stakeholders, and external partners, you'll help position SATAC for long-term success while ensuring growth initiatives align with our values and strategic priorities.

What you'll be working on:

- Developing and executing business development and market growth strategies that support revenue diversification,



organisational sustainability and measurable outcomes.
- Identifying, assessing and securing new business opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams aligned to strategic priorities.
- Conducting market analysis, sector research, and target client segmentation, leveraging market insights, stakeholder feedback and engagement data to identify opportunities for growth and inform decision-making.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with member institutions, industry stakeholders, and external partners.
- Providing guidance and direction across the marketing function, fostering collaboration, continuous improvement and accountability.

You're an experienced business development professional with a demonstrated ability to identify, develop and secure new opportunities that drive sustainable growth. You combine strong commercial and strategic acumen with exceptional relationship-building skills, and are adept at influencing and collaborating across diverse stakeholder groups to achieve shred outcomes. Equally comfortable thinking strategically and delivering practically, you thrive in complex environments where initiative, judgement and a focus on outcomes are valued.

You'll bring:

- Demonstrated success identifying, developing and securing new business opportunities from prospecting and relationship development through to negotiation, closure and implementation.
- Strong commercial and strategic acumen, with the ability to interpret market trends, analyse data, and translate insights into growth opportunities.
- Experience developing and delivering growth strategies, business development initiatives, or market expansion activities that achieve measurable outcomes.




- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills with the ability to build credibility and influence across diverse internal and external audiences.
- The ability to lead through influence, coordinate cross-functional activity and drive accountability to achieve outcomes without formal authority.
- Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills, with the confidence to engage effectively at executive, customer and client levels.
- Sound judgement, strong decision-making capability, and experience navigating risk and complexity in dynamic environments.
- A proactive and outcome-focused approach, combining strategic thinking with the ability to deliver practical outcomes.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, marketing, strategy, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training, will also be highly regarded. A current driver's licence is desirable.
- Please note SATAC requires all employees to have a valid Working with Children Check.
