Building Supervisor / Estimator – Insurance Repairs
? Location: Greater Melbourne West & Semi-Regional Areas

Scope, estimate, and supervise residential insurance repairs for a builder with consistent insurer workflow, strong claim coordination support, and a professional, team-focused culture.

We’re looking for an experienced Building Supervisor / Estimator to join our team, covering Greater Melbourne and semi-regional areas.
The Role
You’ll assess, scope, estimate, and manage residential insurance repair claims from start to finish. Supported by a strong admin and claims team, you’ll focus on delivering projects efficiently, on time, within budget and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
· Conduct site assessments and prepare scopes and repair estimates
· Manage claims through to completion
· Attend all scheduled client appointments punctually and maintain accurate, timely records of site attendance and daily activity
· Coordinate with clients, trades, and internal teams
· Oversee scheduling, timelines, budgets, and variations
· Prepare reports and supporting documentation
· Ensure projects meet KPIs, quality standards, and insurer requirements

About You
Essential
· Cert IV Building & Construction and/or Trade Qualification
· Experience as a Building Supervisor in residential construction
· Strong residential construction knowledge (NCC and Australian Standards)
· Confident scoping and estimating repairs
· Current Construction Induction Safety Certificate (White Card)
· Current, unrestricted Victorian driver’s license
· Valid, unrestricted Australian work rights (subject to VEVO check or citizenship documents)
· Advanced Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication tailored for a diverse audience, including tradespeople, insurance policy holders and insurance company professionals.
· Exceptional Multi-Tasking & Detail Focus: Proven ability to manage multiple complex repair claims simultaneously under tight insurer deadlines without losing attention to detail.
· Stakeholder Management: Demonstrated ability to engage, negotiate, and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Desirable
· Insurance repair experience
· Experience using construction or job management software
· You're organised, proactive and clear communicator
· Accountability and integrity matter as much as technical skill.
The position is subject to a six (6) month probationary period. All offers of employment are conditional on a satisfactory National Police Check (any disclosable outcomes assessed for relevance to the role), together with verification of qualifications, licences, right to work, and references. A start date will not be confirmed until these have been received and accepted by PBS.
