Up to 38 hours available

Weekdays and weekends.

Shifts Available: Morning, Afternoon, evening 8 hours shift then Sleepover.

We support over 100 people across Brisbane. If you not getting enough hours at your current workplace, please tell us what you're looking for so we can match you to clients with the relevant hours.

Rosters are set out 1 month in advance so you can plan your work life balance.

We welcome for you to pick up additional shifts at any time when you have availability.

Suburbs: Brisbane South and West Suburbs.

Your passion for Behaviour Support will allow people have the experiences as you and I take for granted.

Our Respite service is getting booked out and we need more workers to come and join our team. Short-term respite may be provided in the client's home or at our very own Adelaine House. A short stay away from home offers many advantages

- Gives the guest the opportunity to do the things they love or to try new things in a safe environment.

- Can be a place to meet people and make new friends or socialize out in the community.

- May allow family and carers some time to do the things they need to do or have a holiday themselves.

About You

We are seeking to employee passionate and dedicated Support Workers to support female and male NDIS participants with daily living and capacity building skills at home and whilst out in the community.

We are looking to employ people who have a passion for supporting people with their Behaviour Support and can confidently employ Behaviour strategies when needed.

These roles rely on your commitment to being a consistent and familiar face in the person's life, so that they can build treated relationships with you and your colleagues. Relationships are at the core of what we do.





You will have face to face support from our experienced and passionate management team based at our office in Acacia Ridge. Drop in anytime to speak with your colleagues and management, access tea and coffee, computers, your PPE stock and use the facilities.

- Mentoring and support people to achieve their personal goals.

- Finding work / volunteer opportunities.

Support Worker Duties

Shifts will include supporting clients with daily living and capacity building skills and may include:

- Facilitating choice and decision making to promote personal preferences and person-centred practice.

- Social inclusion including engaging family and community, planning and coordinating social activates, games and movie nights, meal planning and cooking, shopping.

- Following care plans E.g. Behaviour, Mealtime, Seizure, Exercise.

- Personal care - Toileting, continence, showering, grooming, dressing.

- Mobility- Safely moving around the home, manual transfers, using equipment and aids.

- Communication support with choices and decisions, personal safety.

- Money and personal finances management including utilising self-serve facilities.





- Medication administration - administering medications, supporting self-medication.

- Basic household duties - cleaning, washing clothes, cooking and other.

- Community access – attending events, hobbies, groups, clubs, interests, education.

- Transport to appointments, using public transport or in a worker’s car (mileage is payable subject to participants funding plan).

- Maintaining contact with family, friends and other stakeholders.

Must haves that will be discussed at Interview

- An ability to bring your enthusiasm, positive attitude, creativity and interests to work, to benefit, engage and motivate people to pursue their own interests and to live a safe, healthy and dignified life.

- Experience supporting people with ASD, Behaviour Support / Positive Behaviour Support Plans.

- Drivers Licence and own vehicle. Additional $1 per kilometre mileage allowance is paid.

- First Aid and CPR.

- NDIS Worker Screening Check.

- Blue card, if you are working with under 18s.

Desirable

- Relevant Certificate level study.

- Previous experience supporting people with ASD diagnosis, or mental health.
