About the role

Reporting to the Technical Survey Manager, you'll be responsible for the survey and set-out of civil construction projects, working closely with site personnel, sub-contractors and clients to keep multiple projects moving and on track.

What you'll be doing

- Reviewing project specifications and drawings ahead of site works
- Planning and coordinating survey set-out, factoring in project continuity and machinery/contractor use
- Ensuring all works are set out in strict accordance with project drawings and specifications
- Preparing DTMs ready for use in graders
- Working with the Site Supervisor/Construction Manager on efficient peg placement, including non-standard situations
- Completing all electronic/computer-based calculations ahead of arriving on site
- Communicating clearly with site personnel and providing documented advice where needed
- Maintaining and securing survey equipment




- Supporting a strong safety culture and flagging any unsafe practices or conditions
- Pitching in with training and other duties as needed across the team

What you'll bring

Essential:

- Current driver's licence (Class C)
- General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
- Tertiary qualification in Surveying, Civil Engineering or similar, with proven experience at party leader level in civil construction
- Solid communication, planning, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet demanding timeframes
- Solid computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and surveying software

Desirable:

- Working knowledge of the civil construction industry
- Understanding of Quality Systems and WHS requirements
- RePL Licence
